My beautiful Daughter,
I love you. As you commit your ways to Me, the path ahead begins to get very steep. Know that this is because I am taking you out of the world, transforming and renewing you. You must also know My truth and My promise to go with you. So come, rest in Me. I invite you, I don’t force you. Learning comes through hardship, but don’t be discouraged, and certainly don’t give up! Fix your eyes, mind, and heart on My Presence so that other things don’t distract you and swallow you up. Go, for you are a chosen vessel of Mine. Bear My name, and I will give you strength, rest, peace, and joy fulfilled.
I love You! You never cease to amaze me with the love in which You love me. Transform me. Renew my mind. I don’t need easy. I only need You. I will pursue Your Presence!
I love and trust You,
Samantha Grace Rouse
Acts 9:15, John 17:13, Matthew 11:28,29
Friends, may you be encouraged this day that you are not alone. God has chosen you! He has a great plan and purpose for you! Don’t be afraid. Go!! Only YOU can do it.
The pit. Most of us have dwelt there. We’ve been experts at making it as beautiful and comfortable as possible. The pit however, continues to sink deeper until we can no longer dig our way to beauty. We’re pitted in the ashes of our choices, as well as, choices of others. How do we ever get out of the pit? Surrender.
Complete surrender. That place where we are broken down to raw bones. Our eyes can see, at last, the foolishness we selfishly chose to live in. Our eyes finally see that we are chosen, and not for a pit but for a great purpose. The purpose is not destructive but edifying and full of love. Not love as the world knows love. Love that is pure, holy, selfless.
I’m so thankful to witness Gods powerful deliverance from the pit within members of my own family.
This is my brother and his precious children. (Yes, that’s me in there also.) My brother made himself a beautiful pit..which easily allowed others to hold him there. But my brother surrendered. He confessed his sin, his weakness. He gave his life to the only One who can give life, and more abundantly. Robert is witness of Romans 12:2. While once he was conformed and reconciled to the world, he is now transformed. His mind renewed. He is committed to the will of the One who made him. It is evident in his words, his deeds, his fruits. He is the healthiest, strongest, and most peace filled I’ve ever known or seen him to be. It radiates out of him. He has chosen victory and life. No bondage will enslave him..his faith has set him free. His eyes are fixed on the call. Praising God in all His goodness forever and ever. Amen.
In love and trust in Him, Samantha Grace
For thus says the LORD GOD:
“Indeed I Myself will search for my sheep and seek them out.”
Are you buried beneath the pile of rubble called shame? Are you hiding in the closet of fear? Are you drowning in the river of worthlessness? Maybe you’ve made a home in the pit of despair? Perhaps you’ve been raked over with leaves of ingratitude? It’s no matter, God is looking for you, seeking you, calling your precious name. He will bloody and blister his hands removing the rubble. He will blow down the closet door. He will swiftly carry you out of the raging waters. He’ll dig you out of the pit with His bare hands. He will surely pull you out! He’s already done more than that. He’s sent His Son to be executed on a cross, so that YOU could be set free, and His Son freely went to do so. Why? Because you are loved. Believe me when I say, He won’t stop searching until you’re found!
Father, I know firsthand your word is truth. You hunted me down like an avid hunter, shooting me with arrows of love, grace, mercy, and forgiveness. You carried me through the valleys, and led me to the top of the mountain where you tenderly cared for my wounds. How thankful I am! You are so good. I will never hide myself from you, I will instead awake every morning calling out Your name, and seeking You. I have no desire to take a single breath apart from you. I love and trust You. Thank you for this life. Amen.
I am astounded this morning, and every, at God’s goodness and awesome love. Dating back to my renewed walk with God, the first passage impressed upon my heart was Philippians 4:13, “I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me.” I would quickly learn how crucial this passage would be for my walk. I’ve endured many personal battles I couldn’t have alone. At least not with sanity, joy, and gratitude abounding.
But, that is not my encouragement today. My encouragement is to recognize the will of God to partnership with us, in all things, while both strengthening and softening us!
I know how strengthening myself made me hard, mean, defensive, unapproachable, and irreproachable. I strengthened myself by building impenetrable walls, suppressing and ignoring emotion (except anger and bitterness, of course). That self strength led to a very hard heart and a need to avoid all things good. Praise God that His ways are different. He strengthens us with the capabilities to do all things, to endure and persevere all things, all the while softening our hearts. He strengthens us by tearing down walls. He strengthens us by holding our hand and walking us through our battles. It is only HE that can both strengthen AND soften! How truly amazing is He who loves us so greatly. He is an awesome God!!
If you don’t want to serve the Lord, you must choose for yourselves today whom you will serve. Joshua 24:15
I have served man and been used, and wounded. I have served money and been indebted, and needy. I have served alcohol, and drugs, and attempted suicide. I have served self and been clinically depressed, to the point of recommended institutionalization.
I have served the Lord and been used as a blessing. I have served the Lord and been healed, restored, redeemed. I have served the Lord and prospered, receiving restoration in my credit, daily bread, and fulfillment of hearts desires. I have served the Lord and achieved passion, peace, love, and joy. I have served the Lord and maintained a renewed mind and steadfast spirit. I have served the Lord and witnessed, and received, grace, forgiveness, miracles.
I have served the Lord and faced tribulation, I have done so in peace, perseverance, patience and faith! I have served the Lord and been VICTORIOUS!
Who, or what, are you serving? I encourage you, challenge you, serve the Lord and experience a life beyond your imagination and capabilities! As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord…joyfully!!
It is August 7th, 2011 and I sit in the sun-room of my old apartment, inquiring of God what His plan is for my life. That day I wrote in my journal pages, “traveling” and “missionary.” Both have question marks next to them. I wrote those words in my infancy. My heart has always loved travel and people. Why those question marks? As the infant I asked, “Is this self talking, or God answering?” Today I know.
In one month I will be leaving the States and heading to Managua, Nicaragua on my first mission. I am ecstatic that God has divinely willed for my life such awesome plans. The desire is in my heart because it was placed there! Ephesians 2:10 talks about the “good works which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” I am delighted, honored, and humbled to walk in the purpose of my calling. I am thankful to be allowed to share my light.
You can share yours too, right where you are!
In honor of my mission and yours…
I was made as a light,
Meant to shine bright.
Walking a path,
With many persons to pass.
They are lights like me,
Struggling to see.
In my path for a reason,
If only for a season.
If I dim my light,
We’re all left in black of night.
But, if I fan my flame
They may know why I came.
To share the good news,
We’re all bright shining hues.
Meant to share,
And not to compare.
We’re all needed,
As not to be defeated.
Let’s create a light show
And glow bright like a rainbow!
I love Paul. Perhaps it’s the likeness we share of dramatic transformation. Paul, the once Christian slayer is transformed into this awesome missionary of the good news. His skilled writing and LOVE for God is also very appealing, and also common interest. He has a great understanding of who God is, and who he is IN God. Paul makes me dance in Romans 8 when he talks about the Fathers love.
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:35, 38, 39
Nope, NOTHING! We cannot be separated from His love. That’s it. We can ignore it, refuse it, and still never be separated from it! How refreshing! To comprehend that when Paul, and I, were grotesque sinners God still loved us! It was that love that chased and caught us, enabling the dramatic transformation!
Are you in need/want of transformation? I encourage you, turn around and receive that love that is begging you, chasing you. Gods word says that He never leaves us nor forsakes us. Who is God? He is LOVE! That means LOVE NEVER leaves us nor forsakes us!
