False Hope

Hope was in your eyes, your fingers locked in mine.
Hope was on your lips so soft and so swift.
Hope was in my heart, as silly-puddy in your hands.
Hope molded me, encouraged me, hope told me we would be.
But where were you when the hope was in my eyes, your fingers locked in mine?
But where were you when hope was on my lips, so soft and so swift?
Gone, not there, how unfair, to lure in hope and give it flare, to take it all and make hope fall.
